Lebanon’s Garbaliser secures $436,000 investment

Garbaliser, known for its patented liquid fertiliser, expands from Lebanon to the UAE after securing a partnership and funding from Shark Tank Dubai.

Founded by sisters Hanan and Zeinab Ismail in 2020, Garbaliser started as a solution to Lebanon's waste crisis. They turned organic waste into liquid fertiliser, selling it to over 400 clients in Lebanon's Baalbek area.

Their journey began with a garbage separator idea, which evolved into 'al-Hadum'
(The Digestor), a system to separate waste for Garbaliser to convert into fertiliser. They also collaborate with Zero Waste and Dekkanet El-Nes.

Despite no background in agriculture, the sisters joined Jusoor’s Agriculture Small Business Accelerator, where they developed prototypes and learned business skills.

Global exposure at Dubai Expo 2020 and COP28 led to partnerships and investments, including AED1.6 million from Shark Tank Dubai in December 2023 and funding from Ground Up Capital Fund in the USA.
