SRMG, MENA's premier media conglomerate, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, has launched Asharq Discovery. This innovative Arabic-language infotainment platform is free to view, broadcasting its signal as of today.

Asharq Discovery will present a broad spectrum of premium content, including thousands of hours sourced from Discovery's respected catalog, meticulously chosen acquisitions across the region and a dynamic range of original productions.

In response to evolving viewer tastes and skyrocketing demand for Arabic content, the launch of this platform is attuned to the audience's needs. A recent survey conducted by SRMG highlights that over 80% of MENA region viewers demonstrate a keen interest in more Arabic programming.

The platform will serve the varied interests of the regional audience by offering a multitude of genres, such as pop science, engineering, crime and mystery, motoring, adventure travel, culinary arts, wildlife and nature, lifestyle, and reality shows.
Exclusive programs from Warner Bros. Discovery's esteemed catalog, featuring hit shows from Discovery, Animal Planet, TLC, Investigation Discovery, HGTV, Food Network, and regional favorite Fatafeat, will grace Asharq Discovery, all tailored with Arabic voiceovers and graphics.

Upon launch, Asharq Discovery will unveil shows premiering in Arabic and for free, including "Gold Rush," "90 Day Fiancé," "Morgan Freeman's Through the Wormhole," and "Wheeler Dealers."

The platform emerges from a strategic, long-term alliance between SRMG and Warner Bros. Discovery, transcending content selection rights from Warner Bros. Discovery's catalog and incorporating co-production of up to 30 hours annually with Warner Bros. Discovery and HBO.

The collaborations will facilitate crafting genuine and engaging narratives about the MENA region, providing opportunities for local talent as production will be anchored within the region. Additionally, Warner Bros. Discovery can choose to distribute co-produced content globally through its platforms and services, presenting regional stories to an international audience.
